Last line says it all for me, FR. How many times has an accomplishment in sport returned a sense of pride and dignity to a nation suffering due to other circumstances? I can count many... Nicely said... |

Severn, soccer is a HUGE sport in Singapore,almost to the exclusion of all other sports...i'm sure that betting(as in gambling) has something to do with its popularity though...  Balladeer, it's amazing how a mere sport can lift the spirits of a dejected nation..and i'm getting so pumped up..the World Cup is coming!!!  |

Kacy, oh yes i will...after all, four years is a looong wait.. Hope, i hope your son wins every time Hallucination, hi there! i'm looking forward to the genuises of Thomas Sorensen and Thomas Gravesen..i like them to have brilliant performances at the World Cup bsquirrel, it is called soccer..though if you call the sport football, people will understand it as well...here, the sport rubgy goes by rubgy thank you, Interloper i liked your comment, Seymour Tabin..gave me a chuckle...covered answers ah? thanks all for reading |

Noah, nationalistic joy is one cool phrase..thanks for coming up with it! it's a 6 syllabled phrase though..i would love to see that phrase turned into a senryu... |
