Help!! Anyone have more ideas? Pop ups have taken over my computer! Not just pop ups, but my IE comes up by itself showing 'ad pages' or 'a search bar' for my home page. Ad pages also take over when I am trying to post in pip...like someone switching channels!!! I can reboot...walk away and come back a half hour later and my systems resources are dangerously low. What operating system are you running? If it is Windows XP I may be able to help a little... Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services Scroll down to Messenger in the list and right click it then click Properties from the pop-up menu. Under Start up type select DISABLE then click OK or Apply. You may need to restart your computer after doing so. The links Ron has are the same I use...have you installed anyting new? you may be able to do a rollback and find out |
