hardware question, Mac vs Windows PC? |

My home PC crashed, fatally (hard drive). I'm here by virtue of another connection. For reasons I won't go into, the crashed unit is not worth a rehab. So, I need a new system. I'm curious if anyone has an opinion about PC vs Mac. I can more easily afford a PC, given that I can use some of the components of the old system and some of the software, but I feel the need to consider all the alternatives. Folks with Macs seem to love them , but there are not many of those folks out there. If you know anything about Macs, I'm thinking about the eMac or iMac models or a PC equivilant (I think) to an iMac. I have no experience with a Mac. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks all . . . |

you can buy a brand-new, reasonable pc for less than $400.00. This includes operating system and miscellaneous software. it is almost no longer worthwhile to build a pc (or use "old" parts) anymore, unless you have specific requirements. i know little about macs. about the only thing i've heard "negative" in some time is that there is less of a choice when it comes to finding software. |
