I am still messing with those friggin frames cause now I am addicted. My question is this: When using frames, is it better too have the links open in a new window, or to have them open in the main window? I like both ways, yet the only advantage that I see to opeing in a new window is that the viewer keeps the main page in the background and doesnt have to hit a "back" button to return to beginning page of the site. But, on a design and content level... what is the best method to use for ease to the visitor, and neatness of how the site displays. Thanks again |

it completely depends on what you're trying to do. if you're linking to an outside source for reference purpose, a pop-up (new window) would probably be good. if you're linking to another site of interest though, it's almost like you're trying to trap the browser into staying at your site if you open a new window. at least, this is how i feel. on the other hand, i think frames are evil, too. |

The 'new windows' or the lack of will be my content.... its a poetry site, and I guess that I have decided that it would be better to open in a new window, that way they can still have the main page in the background and I dont have to do BACK buttons throughout the entire site. Frames are evil Chris hehe, but I am twisted like that Thanks for the input Tima |
