Ok, recently I have aquired the taste for playing around with frames. My trouble it seems is that for some reason I cannot get my text on the far left to come away from the side, another words... its like very flush against the left side of the screen. It needs a space so that it doesn't look as though it wants to jump off that side of the page. For instance - pretend that these lines (||) are the borders of my left frame. The way it is now, my text looks like this on the left (|....|) and I want it to look like this: (| ....|) Below is the code that references the left frame, if someone can tell me what I have set wrong, I would surely appreciate it. Thanks in advance, (<HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE> type_Document_Title_here </TITLE> </HEAD> <!--Notice that you do not need body tags!--> <!--You must name each frame, so that you have a 'target' to link pages too. --> <!--The SRC= is from where you would load your HTML page. If you had a page of vertical buttons to go in the left hand frame, it's name would replace blue.html--> <!--Links from these buttons would include the line 'target=main' to send the linked page to the larger area of the frameset, i.e. main area. replacing red.html as shown here--> <!--The 120 number is a specific width of the left column in pixels. the * means whatever screen space is left. You can specify percentages of the screen if you prefer as 25%,75% --> <FRAMESET COLS="150,*" FRAMEBORDER=0 BORDER=0 > <FRAME NAME="left" SRC="left.html" MARGINHEIGHT=0 MARGINWIDTH=0 SCROLLING=AUTO NORESIZE> <FRAME NAME="main" SRC="main.html" MARGINHEIGHT=0 MARGINWIDTH=0 SCROLLING=AUTO NORESIZE> <NOFRAMES> Use this section to tell surfers using older browsers that:<BR> 1) Your browser is incapable of Frames, so they should consider upgrading to a newer version.. or<BR> 2) Add a link to a version of your site that doesn't use frames. </NOFRAMES> </FRAMESET> </HTML> |

Came back to add - I have managed to make the left frame larger than it originally was, however... it still flushes tight next to the left hand side. I'm about bonkers now, from staring at code for too long |

Ok... NEVERMIND lol I just went in there and done what all webmasters do - changed settings and numbers until I arrived at the desired product. It wasn't that bad once I really got to looking at it, and man... what would we ever do without tables? Great learning experience if nothing else |

(serenity raises her hand) what's a frame? and I wish I were kidding, but I swear, I've been browsing the net for a few years, and have gotten the message that "Your browser does not support frames) and I still have no idea what that might mean. I just shrug and say, "okay!" |
