Pages I flipped through the pages of him swimming words of liquid language floating on this tide I saw myself he had seen my touch in a way that few men do, but he knew it it warmed and chipped at him being held at arms length with fingertips begging begging it was there in letters flow that I saw a spring gushing from rock where he had touched in miracle of joy the pain in longing deeper than yellow fire the pulling, the pushing of a heart and it was a sigh breathing freely this started out so innocently like a wind tapping at windows to howling and moaning outside the house and I am here and I am there in the shadows touching his heart "Don't let the mistakes of your past be the journey of your future." |
