I remember Spending so much time Trying to forget, And here I am reliving them; Those times With players exchanging parts Events ripping at the hearts And souls growing cold And colder still knowing what waits Braced to the facts Crumbling silently alone to fears Coming back through the years Yesterday’s yesterday is now; Whoa to this now As I gather once more Photographs for the fire Images in ink Blurred. Come patient follower with memories Pale comparison to our fantasies Richer than the existence itself Stored carefully on the bottom shelf With that broken vase of blue Which is broken now a new. So I am left with nightmares and dreams Both of which blends into this gray Of my existence against reality streams And my successful entering another day The antique dealer smiled as I entered on that snowy day, With cardboard box in hand, It was easy to get her to understand, Spending so much more to restore Than what the vase was worth anymore I just told her to do what she could And that would be good, And it was enough when I returned the next snowy day. Professor, I too, enjoyed this. I was looking at your rhyme scheme...the poem reads so smoothly, I didn't necessarily notice it. But, I pay a little closer attention to your poetry. Unfortunately, this busy Fri. isn't allowing me as much time to review and reply to poetry as I'd like. Or, to go back and check this out. Did you use a specific scheme? May not be on-line if you answer,...sorry I should figure it out myself...as always, am impressed and enjoyed, Pat ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Thank you, all For the kind words regards The first stanza has no pattern, I planned it not to have one, Although I always tend to slip an internal rhyme in, The rest is just a haphazard thing, basic rhyme No strict meter, Pleased you enjoyed Gloom |
