Lover's Lullaby

I long for the warm
evening dances
in the darkness
the faint smell of sweat
on my mind
the stillness of the room
will be broken
by the whispers and moans
of the dancers as they fly
the kisses are moist and so gentle
by a face
that is rough against mine
calloused fingers touch my back
as he leads me
through steps we both
learned through time
new steps we try together
to see if they satisfy
the music is
breath and heart beat
a magic lullaby
come to me
and we will dance
dance to the lover’s lullaby
