I'M FILLED WITH SONG by Linda L. Dowd ~*~ Alas, alas, This sorry lass, Has gone awhile Without a smile. My life is fraught For I have naught, No seeds to sow, Nowhere to go. Time ticks by Yet here I lie, Without a hope And cannot cope. I shan't live long Without a song, No tears to cry Tho' soon I'll die... Behold! A light! Drinks up the night! Beyond yon' door, Perhaps there's more! Shouldst I dare Cross over there? Perhaps a peek For love I seek. The lure is strong, I shan't stay long. It beckons me Across a sea. The winds do blow, Yet I must go... Now all is still, I've drunk my fill. I must return From my sojourn... What's that I hear? I need not fear. 'Tis tunnel dark With sound of harp. A golden beam Shines so serene, At yonder end Beyond the bend. To God I pray I'll find my way... I see a face! A smiling face! I'm so aglow, It frees my soul! On wings of dove I've found pure love! BC ~ Your singing is music to my ears! Actually, I was a "sorry lass" when I wrote this! I had double pneumonia and was near death. I was almost in a state of delerium when I wrote this! ...but please, don't stop singing just because I am now healthy and happy! Warm hugs for your loving gesture! Linda, Then sweet lady, you should be sick more often. NOT! I love this. Wonderful thoughts. It is beautiful and I especially liked the ending. I find it interesting when you write in these 3-4 word lines and keep the flow going so well. Am going to go back to look at it again, cause I don't remember if it rhymes...it flows, though, and I like that, too. Enjoyed greatly, Hugs, Pat  ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

Oh my gosh this brought tears to my eyes...Beautiful!!!!! I absolutely love it!! I'll have to write it down, my printer doesn't work lol. I enjoyed this tremendously!!! I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man. |
