Say Goodbye

I know
It is difficult
To accept

But show
Me
The pride
That is
You

Accept with
Civility
That
I cannot
Stay

That what
Was,
Is no longer

That our
could-have-beens
Were, once

But the
Differences
Of us

Became
Indifferent

You want
Your way
And tell me to
Go your way
[You don’t ask]
While
Not acknowledging
My way
At all

Lopsided
I am not
Neither are you

But you are
Leaning too far
Your way

And even though
I have stretched
Out my hand
To pull you
Back to center

You topple onto
Me, crushing
My gifts

And in trying
To get us both
Back to center

I apparently
Have lost
The lift
I once gave you

So while I feel
Like a ship
Without ballast

Perhaps as a
Single raft
I can float it
Alone

And I can only
Hope that someday
You will find
The anchor you need

For the wind
Has blown ~
I wish you fair
Weather ~
The sail is set ~
The sunset
Is my destiny

"But the differences

became

this says so much; at that point there is no hope..

A lot of strength in this. Enjoyed.

Such a melancholy write dear Lady.
I do hope all is well with you...
This one absolutely aches.

sad... and it runs down the page like a raindrop on glass... leaving a trail from where it first hit
to the fall at the end.

I liked the tone of this poem, the message, and also the hope in something that could be painful.  Good poem.

Lady, i'm agreeing with Cpat, it was indeed like a delicate tear falling down the page.

amazing flow to this, images and thoughts.

being submitted to quiet forceful manouveres, without being asked, when you don't even desire to travel in that life direction... perfectly shown here.

you go girl....sail to your own destinys sunset!
lots of love, gemma xxxxxxxx

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.
