Rows of goes in throws of snows
Piled beneath the drifts of blows
Blight of white from sightless night
That mechanized man lost it’s fight
Winds that sends and ends pretends
That only muscle power moving lends
Creep through deep till sleep will keep
Giving winter the control of the street.

Gloom

as I rest my tired old body from combat with the remnants
of the Storm of the Century

Sometimes there are advantages
to wishing we could just be a bear,
curl up, hibernate,
let nature course through,
by spring melt...
