And the phone rang |

And the phone rang yesterday at two o’clock. I was asleep as is typical of my afternoons off. I tripped over a beer bottle as I rushed to the ring ring ringing of that blasted noise-maker. The answering machine picked up right as I did, while another beer bottle fell to the floor, smash smash smashing as I struggled with the entangled cord. The line was dead, but there was someone at the door. |
