It couldn't be the way your scent Playfully tickles my nose. Or the way your eyes search mine Gentle as the petal of a rose. It couldn't be the way your touch Exploads beneath my skin Or the seductive way your voice grinds, Rocky with adrenaline. Could it be your thoughtful, wry smile As if you know the key That unlocks the tectonic plates And exposes the earth beneath? Is it the way my insides seem to lunge Out for you when you laugh? Head thrown back, mouth ajar, The world seemingly inside your wrath? Could it be the Devil's Tempt That draws me nearer to you Or is it all the missing reasons That explain why I love you? I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man. |
