Approaching Easter Suicide missions, death by friendly fire delivering the final blow, in the name of peace, a holy war. 3000 slain on a sunny, Tuesday morn, camera’s rolling, we took it all in, almost as if it had been a Hollywood scene created on a WB back lot. Babies in a dumpster hands of the hungry raised in fervent pleas, and we, feeling as if our hands are tied our minds too fried to find a way to help or pray. Is this the reason this holy season is so hard for some to comprehend? Is this why His mission of love not hate that sealed His fate, and promised ours, seemed akin to suicide? Is desensitivity the true proclivity of finding less in His sacrifice His gift of pure, perfect love? Is this why full recognition of what He’s done, the war He’s won, to place us safe in the Father’s hand is so hard to understand? ©April 10, 2003 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

I fu&%#ng loved it...but I felt like you wanted to say more. Did you? I'm pacing now, yelling at my walls for the apathy of us. Thank you for sharing, and forgive my language. The more I read this, the more I think you said enough. Good read, good poem. [This message has been edited by machiner (04-10-2003 11:54 AM).] |
