Rope and sledge hammer Tough work for angry rebels Send in the Marines A single tank shell could have blown the statue to bits.It was smart for us to let them start pulling it down and show them we were there to to help them.I believe this is a perfect example of what this war is about. paladin ....a knight without armor [This message has been edited by paladin (04-09-2003 10:55 PM).] |

As I watched the coverage of this "less is more" shot [for as you said, we could have bombed it] I thought - how I would feel if our statutes - Lincoln's came to mind - were to be defaced, destroyed by others. This particular capture of time was as poignant as watching the firefighters lift the flag over the Twin Towers... I know everyone has their idea of why we are doing what we are doing...but you see, if you are American, the key word is we. As in US. Thank you Paladin. |

How very well stated Robert. In watching this unfold yesterday morning I was reminded of the Berlin Wall when it came down. Enjoyed. ~Hugs~ ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always |
