What is it, that troubles you like a fist of clouds with grey trim? I look at you, so overtaken by this, indelible arm span the sky holds And wonder what it would cost to put you up for the night if i had that much strength in my raised arms and a sheet of aluminum to stand over your sleeping body like a roof. What is it, baby, that moves your heart like a feather to the left but, like a paperweight to me? Is it, spoken or is it implied, that mobile device that might ease some of the strain from my back before you tell me to stop, pushing so hard? What is it, that you want? I'm sitting here like a raation even as i scour for my own inner peace, just so you can have the allowance when we speak. When you are troubled, i am raking my nails into my shirt like a steel casket for the right words. When you seem to be asking, you are merely calling from your own crypt where answers are not audible. I keep reaching from my headstone to your murmor, wanting to give you the life that you deserve, but there is something in my way. What is it? Intense. Poignant, a personal quest for an elusive answer that may never materialize. Well done, luvlorn. |
