~First there is the courtship.

This is the tide playing to
the pull of the moon -

The wave teasing the shore
with a taste of the ocean.

This is our taste.

And our longing to devour.

This is the wait...the courtship of our desire.

~Then comes presence.

The moon is full with awareness.
Gravity is the weight of love...and the tides
grow heavy.

The wave crashes fierce to know the shore...and then falls
back in a slow caress -
memorizing every grain of sand beneath
its touch.

This is our feast.

We come only with our hunger.

And we feed to each other the
pure presence of this love.

~At last we merge.

The ocean lies calm...the moon
reflected low across its stillness.

The shore is damp with memory...the wave
sings in quiet tones the holiness of
their meeting.

And you and I have tasted the depths of
one another.

We have fed our flesh...our love...our
spirits -
Until full of our desires
we hunger no more.

We are filled only with each other.

I should know better than
to read you in the middle
of the day...

now I'm not going to get
ANYTHING done....

sigh.

Dang.

Merging ... the ultimate goal of every love. What a wonderful path you have designed, magical steps leading into the depth of each other.

Thank you Linda (thank you everyone!!)

Linda,
This poem was inspired in part by the Kabbalah and in part by Tantric philosophy.
The courtship of the Divine...the Infinite flirting with us through everyday life.

Aahhhh....life's pretty cool huh?!

Love,
Eric

Hmm. Tantric.  Yes, much more rewarding than tantrums.
What a sensually delightful poem. Another tasty treat for my private library.
