Phoenix Am I that caged blackbird, That chirps for freedom? Will these silky black wings, Ever stretch forth in glorious flight? Am I the pet of a cruel master, Whose intentions are blind even to me? Will I continue to see just a ray of hope, When the warmth of truth bids my soul? Is this the tragedy, That has my heart shedding tears? We the helpless feel as captives, Homeless in a prosperous land, Being fed with breadcrumbs From the hands of strangers; So, if ever the sky rains ice And upon the ground lies pain, Comfort upon thy bosom of love And shelter this poor bird's plight. Do dreams lie? As I sit perched upon the moon, With eyes that speak in silence; If I were not to awaken in the morn, Would my blackness be cleansed by truth? Would my wings become Angelic in death? Would I devour the hand that feeds me? Or would I shriek loudly and mockingly Before swooping down into the sun, Never looking back. Marcel |

All good questions poetically placed... Welcome back marcel...I was wondering when we would see you again. Don't be a stranger... Karilea - If I whisper, will you listen?... |

Welcome, Marcel. I enjoyed this read, and the pondering Q's. |
