evening colours melted into the waiting arms of the city - where neon lamps cradle an infant twilight - like ice dissolving in hands of a princely child on a July afternoon soon the sounds of traffic were replaced by sounds of cackling couples hand-in-hand; bodies brushing sideways arms around waists murmuring sweet nothings joy spreads to distant quarters like dawning light dispelling dark like flowery scents of French perfumes that stay back in a room long after the lover has left lingering like memories that remain in fingerprints of dust on photo albums as if marking the time when they had last been viewed together; bodies brushing sideways arms around waists like double stitches on Belgian Lace I smiled into the shadows of the setting sun spurred on by fleeting thoughts somehow the time and the occasion merged the present with the past when joy spread to all quarters and the cackles were ours somehow the stitches have worn off though the Lace still remains [This message has been edited by Sudhir Iyer (03-31-2003 06:14 AM).] |

Sudhir - this IS beautiful! Sad sad but lovely - I like how you compare the wearing off of stitches but lace remaining as memory - awesome write here . . . xxoo |

to double stitch a garment or item is to make sure it will last a long, long time... but lace is a fragile thing... and only care will keep it safe... Ah Sudhir, my friend...this is lovely. It is so good to see you posting more often! |

(big hugggssssssss) Sometimes the stitches go undone where the past is concerned, but sometimes the lace is better off free so it can flow freely in the wind! (sigh) This is very beautifully written, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

Lovely, lovely! You pulled me in with the title, exquisite! The first stanza captured me not as a basting thread, but as one for keeps! Wonderful piece and the 1st stanza is still my favorite. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
