Endless Are The Hours

Because of the silence
In the still of the night
I took hold of my pen
Yet what could I write

In the sleepless reality
Emerging at midnight
Thoughts are plentiful
Of insomniacs plight

Endless are the hours
Awaiting morning light
Anxiety and fret gather
The inner worries unite

This hyperactive mind
Gets very little respite
Alert and wide wake
It happens everynight

Forever overcrowded
Tossing left and right
Why is often repeated
Stress refuses to write

Hope, it sounds as if you could sure use a good night's sleep!

I usually average 5, always dreaming of getting 7.
*sigh* I do understand this insomnia write.
