I open my eyes and now face the day
I am awake but don't know what to say
The hurt in my heart has made me weak
So much pain with no words to speak
At this point, I hate you so much
But part of me still longs for your touch
Not long ago, we had a special bond
Of each other, we were dearly fond
We never wanted to spend any time apart
Slowly but surely, I let you into my heart
But after awhile, you felt we weren't right
Night after night, with me you would fight
I fell asleep with tears on my face
Everything around me felt out of place
All of a sudden, we didn't get along
To you, everything I did was wrong
You suddenly decided that we must end
You even said you couldn't be my friend
I slowly realized we've lost that connection
But you're still the object of my affection
Now I must begin to find a way
To go on with life and face a new day
All of a sudden, I am left to stand
All alone, without your soothing hand
I must now realize that you are gone
With me, you've decided you no longer belong
Throughout the nights all I did was cry
But now my soul bids me to try
To piece together back my broken heart
And attempt to make a brand new start
Throughout this ordeal, you've only caused me pain
But I shall see the sun through the rain
And now with confidence, I'm able to say
I slowly, but surely, am finding a way

This is very sad, though
it is beautifully written.

A sad, but well written piece. I understand this so well. I have been right where you are. It will take some time, but it will get better.

SweetSerenity - a sad write but one with courage. Wish you the best, and keep your chin up, tomorrow will come and it's another beautiful day...

I like this, and I like your note, SSerenity...I think anyone who strives for perfection understands early on that it's imperative to neve say "this is good enough..."

Good for you!
