Trying Times

Trying not to think of you, but fever lingers
touching mind with all that has come before
eyes that try to close and watch the reruns
when the unknown brought thrills.

the present is my past in view

Trying to change the endings of those
where expectations were never met
but acceptance was the order and
patience the change.

tomorrow brings each moment new

Trying to continue, not wanting to
begin at the beginning, yet time passes
taking me to shyness again,
fearing always disappointment,
wanting only to trust and feel the leveling out
of moments in hold, a comforting end.

night shadows bring me back to you

Trying to adjust to a gift of time,
whose measure passes too quickly when shared
and too slowly when apart, I look forward
to time's installments, even if and only through
dreams...

dressed in thoughts for eyes of blue

M

I am always so touched by the depth that you express these emotions...just as they are.
