The million year rock outcropped jagged on the horizon the million year block of quickly solidified air-pocketed basalt how it enraptured Victorian perusal how it fed the curious who ambled up its base only to creep between its extruded pillars to shed the imposed repressions of the period in awe of its monolithic majesty to sample its rarified air diluted by a potion of 'forget your world' gas The new explorer would then gaze downward to a familiar crop of clothed ants not the voracious kind but equipped with limbs did they have a real purpose down below? only the million year rock would truly know everything has a purpose this rock commanded one. We may never know all the reasons but certainly we should never stop asking the questions... thank you Ecrivan! |

I owe my thanks to Cronenberg's film Picnic at Hanging Rock |
