You call yourself my friend,
But you never see my tears.
You call yourself my friend,
Yet you still don't know my fears.
You call yourself my friend
But you never see seem to see
the burden that I'm bearing
The pain inside of me.
You call yourself my friend,
yet sometimes when we meet,
you act as if I am a stranger
passing on the street
Sometimes existing is so hard
I think my life will end,
I need you then
But you're too busy
Calling yourself my friend.

I've been both those guys. Still am most of the time -- thanks for a cleanly written reminder.....

And yet another very astute observation as to one of the worlds biggest challenges.
Very nicely done.

Morefiah, this is sad to me. Sometimes
true friends get so busy with their
own personal lives that they neglect
to see the needs of their friends.
This is a very well written poem and
has my vote.

Hugs,
Ethel

This is so true. Especially at the down times, do we need our friends.
A good reminder, for sure.

But, you know, I have different kinds of "friends", some 'fair weather ones'....who don't have a clue about what I am about....so important to know ahead of time who you can count on.  I keep them all, for sometimes, ~being a friend~ to those who really are not,  might rub off!

Enjoyed this insight. Hugs, Pat

Its sad, when people consider themselves too high, or whatever, to understand others.. Sometimes, though, I think they are the ones hurting the most. I'm just glad I know who I can count on, and who can count on me. True write

oh, and, in this line "But you never see seem to see" shouldn't that just be never seem, without the first see?

(big hugggsssssss) I think the true friend would stop saying one is your best friend and be there to prove one is your best friend! (sad sigh) I send angel hugs your way in hoping everything is alright, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Morefiah, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

I have met folks like these;
quite possibly I'm this person, too...
it's not someone I mean to be
but the world has had me fooled...

it tells me that I have the time
to befriend a friend in need
and then it takes me far away
to fulfill another's heed...

forgive me until I can return
and give my thoughts to you...
for I am only human,
and I do what I can do...

~*~

Thank you, morefiah, for allowing us to think on this, to give possible answers as to why we cannot always be everywhere we would like to be, 24/7...

this was Very good!
