I see the mind and how it fails to reason
fathom how the weak likely turn to treason
see the vestiges of colonial paste
crusts of culture crumble into waste.

I understand why certain people hate humanity
how alternative culture is the vogue, so is profanity.
some care more about what goes on in the street
and less on what occurs in a plush office
yet we are ruled from that office throne
serve figurative queens, stagger off as drones
peddle our papers to the light of paper moons
surprised at how we can opt to hate so soon

though I dare not bite the hand that feeds
to pay perennial taxes and filfill hormonal needs
while certain desert peoples rise to power
resistant to western ways they produce their powder

against the backdrop of a one body, one minded elite
wars are continually waged, who'll accept defeat?

Ecrivan...I feel the pulse of this war and I hear your words. I pray for peace with all of my being; but I know it is not to be for now. Like it or not, we are involved in a war here in America. I support the troops and I support my son who may soon have to do his part in the war effort. You make an excellent point, though. You are a very skilled writer. ***Ivy Rose

Hi Ivy,

Happy late St Pat's to you. Somebody said to me it's better to be fought here or there, naturally it would be better
nowhere rather than elsewhere

little wing,

much of what was fought in the past was done on a shortsighted scale. I don't see this one being different.

Passing Shadows,

it's very sad to see, and that doesn't mean it has to continue so that more civilian casualities occur. Anyway we shall see if the means justifies the ends.
