Chris, this reminded me of the tulips I won't be able to see this year. I had to leave those behind. Still, this is a wonderful haiku. |

Thankyou all for your kind comments. I believe we all love spring & the new growth it brings. SmartChick, you just go out and get some tulips and start a garden all over again - whether it be a window box, or a spot in your yard - do it for yourself and your love of nature. hugs to all!! |

Sorry it is a senyru. The rigid composition of haiku says the last line should be a reflection of the first two lines. It should be a thought but not part of the image of the first two.It is how ever a beautiful senyru. paladin ....a knight without armor [This message has been edited by paladin (03-26-2003 10:07 PM).] |

Hmmmm.....thanks paladin...I am a little confused as one says "yes Haiku" and you say no. I must do more research and homework. Thanks to all the others who signed as well. |

Hi Chris, love the awakening of Spring and there is so much to watch in the garden. Each day brings a new and delightful view. I loved this short poem. I was under the impression that a haiku was strickly about nature in the form of 3 lines with words of 5-7-5 syllables and a senryu was also in the form of 5-7-5 but not about nature. Paladin has both of us confused. Perhaps we should have Nan or Karilea in on this conversation. Hugs, Marti |

Marti - yes, that's what I thought too. Now I am not sure....it is an interesting form of writing and I want to learn more. thanks for reading and commenting! "Hope" is the thing with feathers- |
