If there are no refugees to flood camps maybe they don't want to leave their country and if they don't want to leave their country how can relief groups serve better in the aftermath? no interests in country xyz? tell me more of the same the plans to rebuild, restructure this way... how this war will bring peace... when the refugees will pour in. tell me of a domino theory how it was to stop the spread of communism in Asia tell me how you intend to play dominos again how new nations will arise from a dictatorial pasts and if their constituents have already bonded how will they wave your flag with exhilaration as you intend to roll in and liberate. After all aren't there supposed to be refugees? I want to know...I was given that right even though the media has its waves regulated after all I'm told I'm there to defend my nation tell me about the people who wait to leave and I'll tell you there are those that will stay cause there is nowhere else to go no place but home, no place like home, wherever the refugee will come from. nobody wants casualties, everybody wants peace men are sent in orbit around the moon yet for durable workable peace there's still no room... sad truth indeed...as one paper states America will win the war but lose the peace. |

People leave their country because they are afraid. The simple fact is, these people know they don't need to fear us, so they aren't making a run for the border. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

People leave their country mostly because their livelihoods are ruined...or are going to be. I think that fear fills their hearts even though there is an American presence..the fear of the unknown and reminders of past destruction one refugee a non Iraqi mentioned there really is nowhere else to go...that could mean Iragis are afraid of facing neighbouring resentment or unwanted persecution by neighbours resentful of Saddam's policies towards certain surrounding states... others still have water and electical supply, so they're hopeful they can rebuild and it would be easier to do so than turning nomadic or becoming non-citizens. so I am close at knowing the answer, but thanks for your reason, Ratleader.
