Have you seen the sunrise?
Made by careful hands.
Painted in the different hues,
Of yellow, orange, and red.
Mixed all together
so it runs up all the sky.

Did you see the rainstorm?
Made by angry hands.
Flashes and slashes
Of black, blue, and grey.
Smearing all together,
Obliterating all the land.

Did you see the rainbow?
Made by gentle hands.
Dipped in many paintpots,
Of all colors known to many
Flinging all the colors,
To cover all the sky.

Have you seen the sunset?
Made by tired hands.
Sponged in many mixtures,
Of yellow, orange, and red.
Melted all together,
So it runs down all the sky.

You know what I want to do? I want to frame that on a background of a child's hands covered in splotches of paint. I think that would be wonderful.
