OK, no board needed, but thought I'd share anyway, hope you enjoy

Poem - The Artist

Mist smears my vision and
Rain cries tears on the window
That looks out over a grey and souless landscape.
Without you, there is such a drive
To filter, osmotically, into this void
And there find myself
Monochrome once again.
I stare through the rain
And pray that you may come soon,
Easel in hand,
Ready to paint the greens of spring
And the reds of summer
Back into this life of ours.
As pane-droplets make rivulets,
Their erratic journey mirrors my wanderings;
So thoroughly without purpose when you are not here.
I need you so much to come,
Dancing through this shower,
Flowers springing in your light footfalls,
Hope in your outstretched arms
And the whole spectrum in your smile
As I have often dreamed it.
So here I wil sit
Ignoring now this grey rain
And waiting for the night to bring me
My stars.
I fancy that as clouds dissipate
They will happen upon my silent wish
And carry it to you far away,
Returning as a streak across the sky
That promises a colourful dawn
Handpainted by you.
