This is our burden it is our personal demons each day that we must fight or else give in to what cannot be right Our sin is habit forming and never willing to quit an unquenchable thirst wanting only more to drink it must be outsmarted from dawn to dusk or else all could be lost Our friends try to bring comfort to our cries giving us a taste of their own true wit saying there cannot be light without dark a balance of two equals always ready to bout Some use East philosophy explaining yin-yang some stay with the modern western thoughts of Saint verses sinners What I want to know is why we have to choose sides of this eternal battle be it righteous or wicked, give or take, a line in the sand for us to pick one side and make our complaints Because in the end we make the final choices We are self-made Yes we are born with original sin But we do not have to give in to the old saying the devil made me do it because we are our own demons If we so chose to be in this life then we need to understand that WE are simple you and me and things must start to change |
