YOU ARE THE MOST ELUSIVE ROSE You are the most elusive rose, a heart beyond my reach No matter my most subtle plea, or whisper in beseech For I would never force the blush of petals to disclose The love I know is flourishing in secrets of a rose Pretending not to notice, as your silken skin denies A finger’s touch of heaven that eludes my yearning eyes And yet your presence seems enough to satisfy my want A swaying skirt, and sea blue eyes that know enough to taunt You are a lady of allure, a charismatic force That captivates a stranger’s eyes, and changes earthly course A harbored trove of small delights, a sigh that can embrace The harp strings of a angel’s tune, and starlight’s favorite face I would not overstep my bound, in any way encroach Into the moonlight’s treasure as you cautiously approach And finally unleashing the most splendid of your charms As drooping little blue eyes settle limply in my arms Written by Elizabeth Santos For Evelyn Elizabeth Rubino My precious granddaughter 3/10/03 [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (03-11-2003 06:17 AM).] |

Lady Santos, a mosted blessed granddaughter...and a most beautiful poem to be framed and to be hung in her room... I shall wait, patiently, to see if your gifts flow through her veins...a double blessing, indeed! |

Liz, your granddaughter is so very fortunate to have a grammy who writes poems and stories for her and about her! Huggles and Smiles, Marti Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts. |

Oh Liz, this is so much like her. She was the most delicate, tiny, and precious sweet girl when I sat with her, in the middle of that birthday party. I will never forget, never being part of a "real family" for those days I was allowed in. She is just a darling little treasure, but just look at her Mom and Grandma, how could she not be? |

How beautiful this is, Liz. You do have a very blessed little Grandaughter, who has a Grandmother who loves her so much and also can write such beautiful poetry to her. Thank you for sharing it with us. Heart Hugs, Ethel [This message has been edited by garysgirl (03-11-2003 05:38 PM).] |
