Explanation - KMS For reasons unexplicable to both factions involved - one had seemed as if he had suddenly lost interest in the other. As if for one reason or another, had turned his back on everything he had ever wanted, dreamt of, or searched for. But in actuality, he had an overwhelming abundance of interest. So powerful, so confusing, so uniquely unexperienced by him, that he posessed no hint, clue, or idea of how to contain this feeling. so for one year - He sat and waited. Thinking about the indescribable thoughts and feelings eating away at his mind and soul. Eating like a pack of starving wolves who would fight over the smallest morsel of food, just to stay alive. All the while not realizing that they exerted more energy to capture the prey than they gained by eating they prey. Had the beasts in his mind, as well as the wolves simply captured the prey, they would have been joyous at the feeling of a full stomach. Instead, they chose however, not to leap at the first chance they were given. They continued starving and yurning for something, not knowing what it was, and the wolves, like his heart and soul - eventually died of hunger. So for one year - He sat and waited. Seeing the same beautiful face and smile run rampid throughout his mind. wondering why he let this blissful feeling exit his life. why he hadn't jumped upon the first chance he had ever seen. Why he didn't wrap himself tightly like a snake around the girl. With a firm grip and coiled up, so as not to let her go. But instead used the coils to spring away just as quickly as he had grasped her. why he didn't just hold her for as long as he could. Why did he let something so unique, so treasurable, so remarkable, and so one of a kind, slip through his fingers. So for one year, he sat and waited. Waited for the answers to all of his questions. But found himself creating new questions that just ran around inside his head like a puppy chasing his own tail, only to come to the realization that it would take him nowhere. Answering questions he had already answered. Questioning the answers that he came up with. Coming up with new answers to the questions, which spawned even more questions, leaving him unquestionably unnerved. So for one year, he sat and waited. Waited for fate or, perhaps, chance to bring the blissfull feeling back to him. Waited for the questions and answers to get out of his mind. Waited for the feeling of joy; happiness rightousness pleasure satisfaction Waited for so many feelings that could fill a thousand pages in the first volume out of an infinite collection of books. But, after a year, he didn't have to wait anymore. For he had what he desired and to this day holds her with the tightest grip, so as not to ever lose her again. |

Thanks all - I wrote this poem about 4 years ago when I was in highschool. I was just going through some of my old stuff and found it amongst old papers. Sorry it's not as good as some of my other works. |
