Peeling Away Echoing inside like whispers Your face won't go away It waits behind like setting shadows As time feeds on the day Translucent to my inner self Have times left you behind In this fog of the forgotten That leaves you lone and blind I walked the path we once held Remember the stars that lit The thousand dreams we lived within That none other could take or fit It's all a piece of figment time That matches in a sight That lived a shattered wish in whole That faded in the light I held my hand to meet your heart To hold, forever cherish Broken touch, my hand now bleeds A thorn to skin in perish I touched a darkened soul That took a time and drown The hope it fed to stay alive In rest without a sound Resting, while inside I feel apart, peeling away |
