The Dance I reluctantly gave love a chance And it took me for a dance It fed upon my heart Tearing me apart It ripped out my soul And took it for a stroll To the underworld; hand-in-hand Through putrid quick sand So I prayed for just one more day To find my dismal way Back from the depths of hell With a promise to never again fail To recognize, Satan’s disguise But alas, I learn, I still lose For my all consuming hate Is an identical fate Eternal damnation No salvation |
