“SHOOFLY JUNCTION” by Bill Charles ~~~~ I’ve walked many times kicking dirt on this road listening to the train as it speeds by with horn blowing, wheels clacking, ringing in my ears, and bouncing off the shacks lined up on the road with dust flying off the rooftops… A’hhh, there’s Felicia sweeping off the porch, kids all over the place, and I can see Tyrone sitting in his rocking chair smoking on that corncob pipe; hey there Telisha, how’s things with you; there’s Amos plucking on that six string; Joybell what’cha doing this fine morning… Just walking and talking to folk saying hi ya’ll, wondering where life is heading; is that Jazabar & ole Moses working on that Ford, wonder when that will be running again, they are souping it up from what they said; there’s Stumbling Roy in the coal pile picking coal, more of a slag heap it seems, but something to burn the chill off anyway to stay warm… Love these walks in the morning, just me and my hound dawg, seeing some of the people that live here, and things that are happening around Shoofly Junction… ~~~~ |

I really enjoyed strolling with you around Shoofly Junction this morning. It's wonderful to travel along someone else's pathway, to share a different existence for a moment. |

(smiles) Yay!!! Oh Bill, this is wonderful, sweet friend, I have never been there but could really envision the whole activity through the coal mining town and all them friendly folk, yay, tell me more, tell me more, this has my vote for sure, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Bill, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |
