I never noticed
the rip in the sky,
or,
that I was walking barefoot
on blades of heaven

damn if it (heaven) didn't
fall through that hole
while I was searching hallowed ground
for sinkholes--
was it one eye-blink dream
or two
between the rip
and a landscape
perfectly manicured,

and resting on
serrated edges
that prick your skin
until you
inhale
in a vacuum

kiss me now,
and speak silent
into wide-open eyes--

walk barefoot
with me
in green grass
where blades bend
beneath steps;

can you?

yes, oh yes,
I know you can,
and if you do,

until time
