Morning Blues A welcome sight, she says to me. Each day she waits to see me rise, wondering if my thoughts would pair with hers, as she looks in my eyes. The fogged up mirror, steamed in moist belies the strength of heart, reflect. Disheveled from the nighttimes twist when dreams once held, now disconnect. I watch for shadows, yours and mine, replaying fantasies mistakes. I test the waters, tepid feel halfheartedly sustaining, aches. She leans in closer, meets my touch, fingers tracing lines of stress. Each syllable she whispers soft, echoes back in fond caress. We miss the words he use to serve, a morning's meal to fill the need. We hunger now, for lack of eyes on morning blues, we use to feed. The smile is there, though slighter now, tilted, wondering if you see reflections in your mirror, musing fantasies, in blue of me. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

oh WOW, this is amazing, beautiful.. I love it! though it makes me ache a little. In the mornings after I remind myself to breath and realise I have to move.. my thoughts are "not another day!" but its not all bad I suppose.. there still is a tilted smile :-) Enjoyed much! Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

I especially liked the last verse and the title you chose. Nicely done and very pretty, as always. |
