Bold brushstrokes on the canvas never adequately captured the essence of you, a breath of life that flowed serenely over the desert scenery that presented itself to my thirsty eyes and hungry heart. You stood there, quietly rearranging the scarf that covered my head from the intensity of a too-bright summer light. I’ll never forget the look on your face, the feel of gentlest touch from your hand as you brushed away a stray hair from my eyes. Not following you to your homeland across the seas was my forever mistake. I often think of you, wondering what you would do if I suddenly appeared on your doorstep. Would you even recognize me after all the moons phases that marked the passage of time, but not love? I stole a dream from both of us. Have you forgiven me? If I knew how to backup time I would gladly do it, just to spend one moment held within the glance of you, even if that moment ended in a goodbye. I still whisper your name in my sleep. |

OMG! It was a Robert I was hoping to get AWAY from in that desert memory. Hehe, the divorce was already in progress. No, I won't whisper his name outloud, the one who caressed my soul as well as my face. Thanks for reading, Michelle. |
