I'm so damned angry!!!! Seems fcpages.com deleted my website  I had there for over two years! AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY! All my photo's and poems are gone. (lucky thing I made that webside offline, so I still have it on my computer) I didn't change much lately, due to lack of time, but I always looked for new entries in my guestbook. Why do they do that, without even letting a person know. I wrote them a mail, but they didn't anwer yet. Last week I got an email, saying I had signed in for free webspace at Zeropages.com and sending me some advertisement. I wrote them back that I didn't sign in, because I already had a website at fcpages.com and that I didn't want to get advertising mails. Later on I saw they share the same email, so they must be linked. Maybe I ... them off by sending that mail and they took revenge by deleting my website. Geesh, it really got to me, seeing that my login name was unknown to their server. There's nothing provoking on my website as many of you know, nothing but harmless little poems. DAMN, I'M MAD!!!!AND DISAPPOINTED, AND SAD AND I NEED A BIG HUG FROM ALL OF YOU, because I've lost all my lovely entries in my guestbook from people all over the world too, damn. Perhaps it is a technical problem on their part. Give it time -- it will probably come back. |

I'd also wait a bit. Tell them you didn't want it deleted and if they still insist on doing it, ask them for your guest book entries!! They must have them somewhere.. I'm so sorry you're upset. It really stinks that they didn't even let you know and give you a chance to prepare for it. |

Titia, I'm so sorry! Perhaps they merged, or it was a technical error. I hope this gets resolved, soon. In the meantime, I think I never want YOU to be MAD at me! LOL...  |

I'm really sorry to hear that, too, Titia. I also suggest you wait to see if perhaps it is an error.....and, if not, hunt them down and shoot them like the dogs they are!!! LOL!I really do symphathize, dutchie.....big hug coming your way  |

That just sucks. It's very hard to find a decent web host on the internet that isn't going to pull something like this on you.  Good thing you've got it saved. Reading stories like this makes me grateful that I do all my website construction offline and keep it copied on my hard drive, like you... Meantime, everyone must be annoyed with me for advertising this site so much, but really, you should sign up at web1000.com, it's 50 megs of free space and no advertising. And I don't work there, honest.  That's the site I use for mine, and as far as I know, it's the only legitimate free, fast web host out there that has no popups or ad banners... if you want a guestbook, well, I've searched around for guestbook hosts on the internet and the best I've found (the one I use) is signmyguestbook.com, so you might want to check that out.Here's hoping for the best, Titia. Get your site up and running again and I'll sign your guestbook. well I had some photos saved on ivillage.com and because I didnt make a webpage and if I didnt have at least 15 hits a month on it they deleted it all...guess they want to have more traffic and or money paid to the websites. even if geocities doesn't let me link to my pics, at least it didn't delete everything I have and my site is still there even if old. |

Well, it's been three days now and nothing happened. It's not that I care to take my website somewhere else, but I want my guestbookentries and the nuissance is that I have to mail every site that gave me an award, because they all put a link on their website to mine and I to them. I'll give them another week. But hell, if they don't answer my mail, I can't reach them at all, can I. Lucky thing I made it offline. Took me several weeks to write that thing. Thanks for all the support and hugs, I needed that. Sunshine, I'll never be mad at you, you're too nice. Titia I am so sorry, and I know this feeling all too well. I had a site through Sitegem at some address (forgotten it just now) but one day I went to add a photo and the entire website was missing. I emailed them and they claimed they sent out an offer to buy space and to those that did not respond the sites were deleted. I never did receive an email and checked two other friends, nor did they. We all lost hours and hours of work, and unlike you, I was not smart enough to back it all up. I only saved the poems, pictures, etc. but lost the entire "pretty site" down the tube. When this happened I asked Ron about this, and he said the days of "free websites" were slowly disappearing and the only way to be relatively safe was to buy your own domain name. You can put all your trust in a person and use their server, but then again it is always best to back the entire thing up (which I now do, but after loosing my entire website before). I feel so sorry for you, as I did go to your site often to see your updates, and I don't blame you at all for being angry. I doubt however if you will get to retrieve it, I didn't  |

Titia, I clicked on your little house and went to your website. I was going to check before I made a reply here. I'm so glad that it was back. You have a beautiful site with all your pictures. Indeed, the damned web site has returned! I am so relieved for you... that seems like a lot of work down the drain. I would have been angry and scared too!
