Is when poems get 3 or 4 pages back and nobody has read or replied to them. I found a few like that today. I don't know why it happens. They were good poems. But people just let them slip through the cracks. It is annoying to me. Cold hands means a warm heart |

smiling here...that is why ya check the back pages. I try to when I have time....and if you have a favorite poet? Run Smartsearch, or add the poet to your library so you don't miss anything of theirs. Passions has grown, because it is a very vital community of poets. It's only natural that things like this happen. I've gone to other sites...I believe one of my poems is still in the archives with 0 replies. (One of the poems, btw, that was published in Voices On The Web...) So...shrug...Um..."it" happens. |

There could be many reasons this happens. If someone posts 5 or 6 poems in a row, not all of them are going to be read. If you find some poems that have few replies, please feel free to read the poem and reply to it. Everyone likes to have their work resurface once in a while with a new reply. Are these YOUR poems? Is the reason you post your work here to be read or to improve your poetry? Numbers mean nothing ultimately. It's not how many people respond to your work. If one person is touched by something I write, then I feel the poem achieved it's goal. If no one reads my poem, then I have to look at the reason. Perhaps it was poorly written (and the members couldn't think of anything worthwhile to say). Sometimes a poem doesn't fit the mood of the forum at the time. Maybe everyone is posting romantic poetry and if I post a funny poem, it gets fewer replies. Does that make sense? |

Wow, what's up with the running numbers angst going on lately? Everyone seems so disillusioned/irritated when their poems dissolve. I prefer to think of it, Julie, as the poems are just sinking underwater for a while. The good ones always find a way of resurfacing again. Besides, aside from Passions in Poetry, there's real, live journals and magazines to submit to and be rejected from. It's a livin'. Mikey |

I guess if it bothers you, post! Unless you're talking about your own poems. If you are, I'll go look for them. Kielo |

Yes, it's annoying but instead of starting at the front pages when you reply, start right at the back. "No wonder I do not make people comfortable. I am a mirror. I have far too many things to say." - Mouthing the Words |

Hate's a strong word. What's your definition of a poem? |

I have works of words in the archives that STILL have a goose egg by them...but that hasn't stopped me from writing. Apparently that particular poem didn't touch anyone. Sometimes one will stand out, and I did not even think it all that good [those are the ones that really surprise me]. PdV had some good thoughts. What is your response? |

I sometimes get none too, it happens it doesnt mean tho that the poems are not read and appriated. Maybe everyone is just too speechless for words. If your afraid of the dark, then why did you come? |
