I seem to be having a slight problem. I will see/read something, think upon it, type in my response, re-read my response, do some editing to my response, and then the damn thing vanishes. And, since it was written spontaneously, I do not remember all that I wrote. The first time it happened...well, things happen. The second time was annoying, but things happen. The seventh time it happened, I got all prepared to go to the shed, get my dad's pickax, and do some hardware servicing. And that would be a BAD thing. Anyway around this, or am I doomed to making short, concise replies instead of my rambling diatribes? Alicat the ruffled kitty [This message has been edited by Alicat (edited 08-24-99).] |

Can you better define "the damn thing vanishes?" Before or after you press the reply button? Does the server give you an error message? Did you accidentally or unknowingly shut your eyes? My first guess would be a cache problem, in which case your reply is there - you just don't see it. But without more info, that's a fairly shaky guess... We would certainly hate to miss your rambling diatribes, Ali! (p.s. This is about the shortest post I've made in a month...) |

I dunno Ron...p'raps I get a tad enthusiastic while typing and accidentily hit the tab key, thereby switching field selection. So when I hit return, I end up hitting clear fields. Guess I'll just have to be a little more cautious and self-controlled. Alicat |

I would suggest either removing the TAB key or your left pinky finger so you don't hit it. Either of those will be less painful than that "self-control" stuff... |

Alicat - You might be hitting the backspace key, too. For some weird reason, my backspace key sometimes (not every time) seems to clear my screen. I've found that using the Forward/Backward browser buttons recovers what I thought I had lost. |

I have no TAB key for much the same reason And my CAPS LOCK key is the windows key now...again, for much the same reason Start with that! Though, on several occasions I did think about removing a pinky or two. ------------------ JA.Malone [This message has been edited by TheCandyMan_1 (edited 08-30-99).] |
