my best friend met her husband on the internet, and she is very happy. i figured, i'd try it too. i'm not desperate, but i wanted to meet new people. so, i went to the "meet you true love on the internet." it said it was completely free, but when i got in there, i found out you had to pay for your e-mail address. you can only use the one kind, and it costs money. so, why does the add say it is completely free? ------------------ The world is in your hands; it is what you make of it. keep on chuggin' |

It is free to get in and look, but not free to use.. On a personal note to you though, I was thinking that there are a lot of strange people on the internet.. Be very careful of what you do and who you choose.. I have heard some of the horror stories and have even went through one with one of my friends.. I'm just glad that he didn't do anything drastic, but there are others out there that are dangerous.. On the good side, I know that there are alot of nice people out there and I hope that you find one of them.. Look there are alot of single netpoets.. hehehe Good Luck to you.. Ladycat is correct again - on both counts. The service is completely free to browse - read all the ads posted, check out the pictures of people interested in meeting other people. Only when (and if!) you find someone you'd like to contact does it cost anything. They have to find some way, I suppose, to maintain that huge database of people. And, yes, you should be careful. I'm trying to put together a series of articles, to go with the ones already in that section, about the "danger signs" to look for when meeting people on the 'net. What I'm discovering is that they're really not all that different from the danger signs you should watch for in real life... |

My son married a girl he met on the net. They are wonderfully happy after a year. Not one argument and I've never seen him so happy. So it can happen. But, the total anonymity of the net invites all kinds of trickery from people who would take advantage of you. Do you really know who you're talking to? They can send you a photo, but is it really that person? Try the Yahoo personal ads...no charge there. BE CAREFUL! And if you do, ask if he has an uncle for me: I'm not picky - don't care how tall, don't care what car he drives, don't care what he does for a living, don't care what he looks like. He does, however, have to be creative, intelligent, funny and nice. I'll be waiting! |
