. This reminds me of when the Khmer Rouge took over Cambodia and began to openly seed its killing fields and the liberal West went mute in response. . |

. While Kim was building his bomb millions, ( by some estimates ten percent of North Korea's population), starved to death . . . And yet we think sanctions will work with Iran . . . . |

Unfortunately, China is to blame on why we cant do anything. They are such a nasty regime that they are doing the same things to dissidents and other groups as what Hitler did to millions of people. Horrible... On another not Google North Korean archeologists and unicorns. Oh yes and then remember they have a nuclear bomb O_o... -Juju |

I'm a little confused here. What do you want to do? Start another war? quote: What did you want to do? The only person I can remember that openly denied the killing fields was Chomsky. He was wrong. |

My across the street neighbor has lots of 'guests' all the time. They are in and out of the neighborhood at all hours, park in front of everybody's houses, and often leave litter behind when they leave. Would it be wrong if I just start shooting them on sight? Why not just start solving all our problems with violence? It's such a simple solution. |

. Kim Jong Un, ( it’s not the North Koreans; even his generals look like arrogant and yet at the same time terrified in fear of each other doormen), doesn’t have to nuke Oakland. If he hits South Korea we’re in a war, if he hits Japan we’re in a war. Our future is the a hands of a chubby boy armed with nuclear weapons. His father let ten percent of his country’s population starve to death while he obtained that lethality. You can bet Kim Jong Un has a hole dug deep enough so he’s confident however foolishly that he and his will survive. Thank God Obama is President because no one important or significant will be marching on Washington if he decides enough is enough. With this illustration, do we, let alone Israel, want to stand by while Iran too gets the bomb? . |

But it's still in the cyclical pattern that we've come to expect from North Korea. I suspect it's a power play within the NK government. He has to show that he's more than a Dennis Rodman fan. We shall see. |

John, It ain't so bad. By the way, I don't live in Seoul (I used to). I live on the number one tourist island off the southern coast. But, John, one of the things that I find confusing is that (if I remember correctly) you know this area. It's not a bad place to live and you do get used to what NK does. Like I said before, it's cyclical. The fear is not that there will be war but the fear that soldiers will get killed. That's not something to scoff at but there's nothing new in the pattern. |

. Brad I never actually lived there . . . You and yours live at the whim of an adolescent boy in charge by virtue of terror of a criminal organization in control of a country What no longer surprises me is the absolute silence in the face of actual evil Calm Seas Fair Winds Take Care John . |

. The problem is Chubby may have well in the eyes of the world and more importantly his generals painted himself into a corner He has to kill someone or be out of a job At some point even China must get sick of this . |

I agree. Just to let you know, the kids here are worried, the adults are not. At this point, I think it has already reach a nadir. Of course, that feeling could also mean "Chubby" needs to react even more belligerently. We shall see. Oh, and in order to ameliorate youth angst here, I show the Daily Show's April second show. It works. |
