Well, I live in Vancouver where folks don't really grow older, they just rust away.I was really looking forward to a short break away in Florida from these 30 days of rain, of which some appeared to be monsoons. So, guess what it is doing down there? Long range forecast is thunderstorms, and lightening. Just wondered is it like this everywhere or what? Very weird for here this time of year, how about there? |

Typical here, Sharon. With the beginning of hurricane season comes rain. Normally it passes very quickly with the winds off the Gulf and the ocean. As we say here, if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes. It will change. |

My hair! My hair! Oh well, at least it won't be "our" rain I guess. |

Louisiana has been wet and dry off and on for the most part. |

It's...hot. (We edge on up to damnedhot in June.) July becomes "too damned hot" and leads into the final last rounds of August/September--now called "keep a bag packed." But I do thank Canada for the cooling waters via the Mississippi--maybe BP will add "Polar Bears" right next to "Walruses" as one of the native wildlife concerns to be considered in the case of emergency... with hugs... |

The heat wouldn't be a problem if the humidity wasn't so freakin' high |

I know, the humidity is what does me in. |

I don't usually mind the rain, especially when we've gone over a week without any, as was the case a few days ago. Then it rained on Monday. And rained. One nearby town recorded almost six inches of rain. It rained again on Tuesday. Flood warnings were issued. This morning? More rain. Tomorrow and Saturday are expected to be more of the same. The plants love it. The hummingbirds love it. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes also seem to be loving it. My birds usually keep the bugs in check, but right now the swallows and hummers seem to be fat and lazy. They can't keep up with the current bug explosion. I'm getting a lot more work done on the computer, though. |

Great to hear you all are suffering anyway. Seriously though, I know I am going to have problems dealing with that humidity too, as we don't have that here really. That's okay that is why Walt Disney invented water rides maybe? p.s. Ron if those birds are eating the kind of diet we did in Las Vegas, no wonder they won't fly to catch bugs! None of us were able to move for about a week or so after we came home. Get this - they have rented ne a scooter for the sole purpose of me carrying everything, including their kids at the end of the day. |

Rain is falling here a bit more often than is wont too. Oh well. Life is dry without rain. "I'm Only Happy When it Rains" - Shirley Manson/Garbage |

Ess, Kit was telling me the day we had a very serious downpour, which I videotaped and sent to her, that in Ontario she out-did me The video she sent me it had the downpour AND hail seriously as big as golf balls! She had to drive staff home so they wouldn't get beaned with hail! |

That is harsh. I like rain and storms, but not when they are so violent |

I am also in the Pacific Northwest, and it is about to start raining here soon. However, I think I would take our rain over what I am seeing in Florida's forecast! It says, "91 feels like 111" and people really live there? I think I will start a new trend down there, and bring my mister bottle and a good ole Pacific Northwest umbrella so I can enjoy all those |
