Obama's inability or unwillingness to deal with the oil spill is turning away even some his most admiring followers... That began to change last week, when MSNBC host Chris Matthews and Democratic strategist James Carville both expressed frustration with the administration's seemingly laggard handling of the crisis — and its apparent inclination to cede authority over the cleanup to BP. "The president scares me," Matthews said on "The Tonight Show." "He's been acting a little like a Vatican Observer here. When is he actually going to do something? And I worry. I know he doesn't want to take ownership of it. I know politics. He said the minute he says, 'I'm in charge,' he takes the blame, but somebody has to. It's in our interest." Carville, appearing on CNN Thursday night, said that White House is "risking everything by this 'go along with BP' strategy they have that seems like, lackadaisical. ... They seem like they're inconvenienced by this, this is some giant thing getting in their way and somehow or another, if you let BP handle it, it'll all go away." "It's not going away," Carville said. "It's growing out there. It is a disaster of the first magnitude, and they've got to go to plan B." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20100524/pl_ynews/ynews_pl2219_2 |

no offense, Mike, but quoting Carville is much like asking P.T. Barnum to stress for us the value of clowsn. |
