Take a number and wait your turn, no pushing, shoving or line jumping. Please be respectful, no slurs, pot shots or Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Carter/Clinton/Democrat hate-fest diversions. Anyway, since there are so many Rachel fans here in the Alley, thought maybe posts showing what a clever, witty and brilliant woman she is would be appreciated. I'll start off the Rachcel appreciation thread with the latest from her blog: "It's standard now for conservatives to invent scary fake threats to run against -- things like the made-up 'death panels' in health reform, or the fake controversy about the president's birth certificate. Senator Scott Brown's only been in DC seven weeks, but he already seems to be fitting right in with how conservatives operate there. "I'm running this ad not because I'm running against Scott Brown -- I'm not, he made that up -- but because he's the Senator for all of us, and maybe this will make him think twice the next time he wants to smear one of his constituents to raise money out-of-state. http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/03/26/4072494-maddow-takes-full-page-ad-in-boston-to-say-shes-still-not-running |

Not really a Rachel but a read I think she’d enjoy. Welcome to Glennbeckistan Where the Tea Party Rules and Tea-hadis Roam What if the Tea Party ruled? Imagine a land, let's call it Glennbeckistan, where white, patriarchal, religiously zealous, Tea Party-type patriots hold a super-majority in both houses of the legislature, sit in the governor's mansion, and control most local governments. It's a place so out of sync with the rest of the nation that states' rights and even secession are always on the agenda. It's a place where gun-ownership trumps all other rights, climate change is considered an insidious socialist conspiracy, and a miscarriage can be investigated as a potential crime. Welcome to Utah. http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/03/29-1 |

I am enjoying her a great deal. Her latest entry on her blog about ACORN is dead on. |

I haven't seen that one yet, Mysteria, will have to look for it. Did you see the Clinton School interview? Showed not only how bright she is but how hard she works. She spends hours researching, checking, double checking, nailing down the facts before she does her show. I really do admire her a lot. And she does seem to give those she disagrees with a chance to be heard, express their point of view unlike some talk show hosts who often shout down their guests. Good to know you're a fan. Yes I watch them all. She worked hard to be as smart, accurate, and eloquent as she is. Being a believable speaker is hard work, especially when you have integrity as she does. She is a favorite of the University students here. I loved her line, "You have to quit making things up!" She is an inspiration to younger people, who are now the ones that will determine who will run our countries now. I have faith in their intelligence, as they are way smarter than I was in University I tell you. They will do the right thing, and they did so far. |

I am a fan as well, and nobody can "talk me down" either. She even manages to disagree affably, maintains a sense of humor, she does TRY to invite/entertain those who disagree with her point of view, AND, as far as I have seen, she checks her sources, she's admirably intelligent, and it doesn't bother me that I think she's hot too. A Class Act. |

She is hot. And I watched her tonight with her report of the actual content of the anti-ACORN tapes from California. Jerry Brown released the unedited versions last week, and they are amazing. I loved the way she took The Right Wing to task for their distortions ad still was able to acknowledge the reality of some of the ACORN financial issues. I love the way she's loyal to the truth. Amazing sense of truth; amazing loyalty to the truth. |

And one from the archives showing where the latest teabagger talking point “saboteur” originated. Remember the Town Halls, all those disrupting flaming, shouting screamers? Yep many were Republican plants, teabagger town hall saboteurs. Rachel Maddow debunks Sarah Palin and Republican lies about health care reform. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTPf2XOC8R8&feature=related |

Rachel Maddow isn’t really my cup of tea, I prefer Cenk Uygur at TYT. . |

Took me a while to get into TYT, seemed a little rough around the edges and slowed paced at first. |

I like the fact that TYT is largely unscripted, a format that almost guarantees that you get a true reflection of what Cenk actually thinks along with a solid basis for why. He’s also open to criticising Democrats when he thinks they’ve got it wrong, granted he’s biased more one way than the other but I think, on the whole what you get is his opinion and solid reasons why he holds that opinion. His views on derivatives and leverage for example are absolutely spot on. He’s a very intelligent chap in my opinion and if you can get past the odd bits of overdone rhetoric and comedic delivery what he’s actually saying is well worth listening to. |
