Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has branded US President Barack Obama a warmonger at the UN climate talks, where he also traced the world’s environmental sickness to capitalism. Chavez, paraphrasing Karl Marx, said “a ghost is stalking the streets of Copenhagen… it’s capitalism, capitalism is that ghost.” “The destructive model of capitalism is the eradication of life,” he said. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez lashed out at the West Wednesday, charging capitalism with destroying the planet. “A ghost is stalking the streets of Copenhagen…it’s capitalism, capitalism is that ghost,” he said, speaking at the UN climate control conference in Copenhagen. “The destructive model of capitalism is the eradication of life.” THE Copenhagen climate summit was pretty much summed up in the high-level segment yesterday when Penny Wong’s speech was interrupted by whistles and chanting and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez got a standing ovation. When he said the process in Copenhagen was “not democratic, it is not inclusive, but isn’t that the reality of our world, the world is really and imperial dictatorship…down with imperial dictatorships” he gota rousing round of applause. It bothers me quite a bit, Michael. It says quite a bit about their intent when they applaud Chavez as they did. These people have absolutely no regard for individual liberty. They are jsut a bunch of dictators or wannabe dictators, interested only in consolidating their power and separting people from their hard earned money. |

Thanks, Denise. I had no doubt it would bother you and John. It's called feeling pride for your country. It seems the only time these countries stop applauding insults against the US is when they hold their hands out, wanting money. |

Ya' just don't understand, everybody loves us now. Chavez, Putan, the Iranians, the North Koreans are just showing us tough love by telling us to stick it. In return, we're showing our support for our faithful allies, the Canadians, the Israeli's, the British by giving them tough love. As I indicated in another thread, maybe Chavez should take over as spokesperson for "global warming" from Al Gore as the rest of the world obviously is enamored with Chavez's scientific views on the subject. |
