Dunn to Step Down as White House Communications Chief . White House Communications Director Anita Dunn will step down by the end of November and be replaced by her deputy Dan Pfeiffer, Fox News has learned. Dunn's departure had been expected as she took the position on an interim basis earlier in the year. The White House had long said Dunn would leave before the end of 2009. But her exit comes at a critical time for the White House, with the administration trying to push the Senate to follow the House of Representatives' lead in passing health care reform. Dunn, who has been a vocal critic of Fox News and last month accused the network of being a "wing of the Republican Party," will remain as an outside consultant to the White House and continue to be involved in strategy. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/11/10/dunn-reportedly-step-white-house-communications-chief/ Let Anita join the list of those foolish enough to take on Fox News. Didn't anyone tell these people that fox hunting is not only illegal, it can also be damaging to your political health??? |

quote: Of course, Fox is a wing of the Republican Party. And "down" is generally the direction gravity pulls us in a gravity well. I guess it's an "accusation" if I can be "accused" of being married to my wife, whom I love. The loathing between Fox and The Republican Party has not yet been established or asserted by either party, though I confess neither of them has confessed to going steady either. Yet it's still something that seems more firmly established than rumors going around in The Globe or The National Inquirer; at least it seems fairly clear to me. Of course, I'm the guy who still thinks the constitution is important, so what do I know? Since Fox News Reports she was supposed to leave before the year's end, and she's going in November, I guess that shows everybody that you shouldn't mess with Fox. If you do, then you might have to leave your Government post when you said you were going to when you accepted it in the first place. Oh yeah, and still have to be involved in strategy to boot. I guess that'll show her. I can see, though, that Mike's happily racking this one up as another victory for Fox News. Sounds almost as fabulous as most of the rest of their stories. Thank Heaven's they're non-partisan, fair and balanced; otherwise who knows what they'd do with a story that said that the woman was leaving when she said she would when she took the job. Zowie! |

Bob, I wouldn't expect you to see it any other way. (1) Dunn is appointed Communications Director. (2) Dunn tries to get Fox excluded from press pool. (3) The other members rebel and Fox remains. (4) Dunn is gone, with a month and a half left in the year and right in the middle of the health care vote. All coincidence, I'm sure. Right...... At least she has more time to read MAO now ![]() |

Post hoc ergo propter hoc. "After therefore because of" is generally considered a logical fallacy by those who are trying to make logical points. That was a logical progression you were trying to point out, wasn't it? |

Sure, Bob. it's all 'coincidental correlation'. Whatever you say... |

You're not wanting me to go into how what you said wasn't logical. It was a logical fallacy. You're just pretending not to know, aren't you, because we've talked about logical fallacies before. As, in this case, simply because the woman leaves on schedule, doesn't mean that she's leaving because Fox News tends to be hand in glove with the Republican party. Fox News has pretty much always been hand in glove with the Republican Party, and their complaints are pretty much beside the point. Simply because you sacrifice a virgin in the fall doesn't mean you've caused the spring plants to come up. It could have been the bullock, the chicken or the goat. Best be safe and sacrifice all three and be sure the spring plants come up. After, therefore because of. There may be a relationship, there may not be, between two incidents separated by time; the simple sequence isn't enough to prove relationship beyond the sequence itself. Especially when there are simpler explanations available. |

Dunn has been called a lot of things. I doubt if a virgin is one of them! ![]() Of course you are right, Bob. If a hammer falls on one's head and he dies, who is to say he didn't have stroke or brain embolism a split-second before the hammer hit which actually caused his death, and not the hammer? Got it.... ....for all of those who believe a duck might not really be a duck ![]() [This message has been edited by Balladeer (11-19-2009 08:59 AM).] |

In your new and even more far fetched analogy, you are trying to take credit for the embolism, which you make fun of to start out with. No wonder you still wish to stick with "the duck." Apparently you think that Ms Dunn works for the FBI or some similarly absurd notion that you've stretched your duck analogy to cover. People, I say portentously, who live in glass houses, shouldn't stow thrones. Tsk, tsk about the comment about Ms. Dunn. Her husband would be upset. I was actually talking about you, you old goat, no matter what your former wives say. |
