. What is the responsibility and/or obligation of the United States to sustain the existence of Israel as a Jewish state. If there is either or both, at what cost? . |

The US should have no obligation I can see, though it acts as if it does. Personally I think that if Israel stands or falls it should be by its own endeavours and merits, not because of some simple misguided belief or whim of a superpower that believes that it should exist. . |

The debate about Israel's right to exist. is ultimately pointless. The justification for Israel is simply that it exists. The Jews are there and they are not going anywhere. Whatever the injustices that went into its creation, the wrongs of yesteryear cannot be righted without doing further injustice. The Jews are there, Israel does exist. The Palestinians are going to have to accept that The United States will sustain Israel at any cost, that is a done deal. The reasons are legion ............... That was decided when the first tanker left the Persian Gulf . ~ Oh Rockefeller, who are in heaven, let thy tankers run till kingdoms come.~ |
