Hows this $700 Billion ($850 Billion?) bailout bill workin' for ya? Mostly, its just cheesing me off. I'd like to see some heads roll....Political and/or actual. Mortgage fraud was committed on a massive scale by both borrower and lender, and it shouldn't be difficult to follow paper trails to the signatories. I don't care that it was "legal" to bundle fraudulent loans with other product for resale...(I lied, I do) But the originators of said mortgages need to be prosecuted. We the People, my butt We be Sheeple, and other than the occasional shearing, sheep can only expect far worse. Izzat a congressman in hip boots behind me? sheesh |

Wrankster, I am so annoyed with all the bigshots getting bailed out and I have to sit here and beg/and wait for assistance from the govt for every single thing I need. I think the govt should bail out the responsible 'real' people first who've been caught in this nightmare before any institutions. |

The bigshots DO need to be castrated...the people like Frank, Reed and Acorn, not to mention Clinton (the one who has the equipment to be castrated). The business leaders won't be punished because that would take the above-mentioned down with them....can't have that. |

Why not? Why can't we boycott like we use to? Or am I just being naive again? |

Well Balladeer, that's kinda my point...Its disturbing to me that not only are people NOT being castrated, prosecuted or even FIRED, they are in effect being rewarded for, at the very least, being incompetent. Its clear that the folks we elect to represent us....don't And now on to the automobile industry.... Yeah. I'm bitter. Whenever a business of mine failed, I had to pull myself back up and start over (and over, and over LOL) Seems there are NO consequences for failing if you fail large enough. |

I got a kick out of House Speaker Pelosi today as she sent all of the Big Three Automakers back to Detroit saying: Come back on December 2, and beg harder!! |

My father-in-law retired from GM in 1983. 30 years on the job. He said they were in trouble then. Honda made better cars. So the product model was there, but the fat cats didn't wanna rock the boat they were happy in. They've known it and have done nothing. The bad mortgages/loans were on the books, being flipped, sharked, and "creatively financed," for years. The CEO's aren't the only ones that should be held accountable. Their accountants and the auditors, both in- house and state reps, didn't do their jobs. Even the FDIC conducts separate audits. There's enough salaries and bonuses to collect from these people to fund a national vacation to Fiji. Maybe not first class, but Spring Break pile-up style. LOL. Which is about how they conducted business. All aboard the fun money boat! It's all a raw deal of irresponsible mania, and the bail-out is just a class action bewilderment proceeding. So when the ones on top are befuddled, it's a scary state for everyone else. I just hope things will pick up and find a correct path to betterment. |

. "The bad mortgages/loans were on the books" mandated by government policy that brought the risk of legal action if a bank failed to comply. . |

A wealth of information!!! I especially liked the Communications Workers.. Communications Workers of America represents 740,000 workers in telecommunications, broadcasting, journalism and other fields. The union’s members work for companies such as AT&T, General Electric and many of the nation’s top newspapers and broadcast stations 99% Democratic 0% Republican Not bad for what some here call a "right-wing" press |

What a tragedy. No accountability in congress or government. I can clearly remember 1996 after welfare was reduced to nothing and health care tanked poeple had signs out saying thank you. -Juju |

LoL Mike The Republicans always have AMWAY to back them up from Serenity's link. Except 70% of their business is done overseas. I guess they want everyone watching from over yonder to feel and look as good as our Reps do. |
